In the village there are several small companies focusing on tourism. During the wintertime many choose to visit Klimpfjäll for snowmobiling, snowboarding, skiing and ice fishing. There is a slalom slope located in the village with various levels of difficulty on the slopes, one for smaller kids and an additional 13 slopes for the more experienced skier.

The village has a hotel and one shop besides from the slalom slope. There are various tracks for snow mobilers and in the summer multiple mountains to climb.

    Vildmarksvägen

    Road in Sweden

    Vildmarksvägen (English: The Wilderness Road), locally known as Stekenjokkvägen after the mountain resehandling of Stekenjokk is a tourist road stretching from northern Jämtland to southern Lapland, Sweden.[1] It begins in Strömsund and ends in Vilhelmina. Part of the road is closed during winter at times because of heavy snow, which can reach up to 7 metres (23&#;ft).[2] In , the Frostvikens Fjällpark was open in Gäddede as part of the Vildmarksvägen.[2] Vildmarksvägen also hosts the Bjurälven natur reserve.[2] Part of the road fryst vatten above the tree line.

    Route

    The kilometres (&#;mi)[3] rutt of Vildmarksvägen begins in Strömsund.[4] It continues to the town of platsnamn and Road , then passes through Jormvattnet, Stora Blåsjön, and Stekenjokk, and on to Klimpfjäll.[3] From there it continues to Kultsjön and Saxnäs via Stalon and Lake Moalgomaj, on to Vilhelmina.[3] Parts of the road through Kalfjället are closed at times during winter because of heavy snow,[5] and the Stekkenjokk plateau fryst vatten also closed from mid-October to the beginning of June.
